Pain in Europe Survey

Despite the availability of advanced treatments, the stark reality is that nearly 1 in 5 of adult Europeans suffers from long-term pain. These findings were uncovered by Pain in Europe, a study amongst 46,000 people across Europe, sponsored by Mundipharma International Ltd.

According to the survey, people with pain report feeling isolated, desperate and a burden to family, friends and colleagues. One in five has lost their job, a similar number have been diagnosed with depression because of their pain and, for one in six, the pain is sometimes so bad they simply want to die.

This Pain in Europe section seeks to provide access to information for both patients and healthcare professionals. It aims to offer everyone a better understanding of pain and its management, and provide support to patients and their families.
